Ziva vs. Kahlan

There are a few female characters on TV I really admire, including Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson of The Closer, Agent Sarah Walker of Chuck, Lindsay Monroe aka Montana on CSI New York, Dr. Temperance Brennan on Bones, Amita Ramanujan of Numb3rs. I consider myself fortunate, seeing as how when I was a kid, there weren’t this many smart, strong, independent women on TV. But I think my favorites have come down to NCISZiva and Legend of the Seeker‘s Kahlan.

Did ‘House’ need medical attention after stuffing a cat into a bag?

Episodes of “House M.D.” don’t show up on Hulu until about two weeks after its aired — odd, but whatever — so I completely forgot how I nearly hit the floor laughing from the scene in which House stuffs the “death kitty” into a gym bag.

Because, as any cat owner knows, cats do not like being put into things, be they bags or cat carriers, and cats also do not like things on them. The scene was hilarious. Here’s the actual episode, and the scene I’m talking about is at 27:00.

Reality TV finale thoughts

I realize that Top Chef actually ended, like, two weeks ago, but I only watched the finale last week. Turns out Trinity already heard about what happened, so he delayed watching until I demanded to know why he wasn’t itching to watch it.

Watching the episode was agony. Hosea and Stefan were naturally at each other’s throats, bickering over foie gras and caviar. But what really hurt to watch was seeing Casey take Carla down, notch by notch. Oh, try to sous vide the beef, oh, why not a souffle instead of a tart… Carla! Girl, there’s a reason why Casey didn’t win the title of Top Chef. Sigh. And apparently, I’m not the only one who feels kind of, eh….about Hosea winning the season 5 title. If Stefan won, I would’ve been, well, he’s the better all around chef… If Carla had won (although she and everyone else watching knew that was not going to happen with what happened with her meal), I would’ve thought, I like her! And she’s a good cook! But Hosea…? Ughhh. First off, he can’t cook fish even though he keeps saying he can, second, he is so obviously always trying to keep up with Stefan. Third, he’s such a douche bag for what happened with Leah.

Anyway, last week was also the season finale of ABDC.

Hootie Hoo! Carla FTW!

Photo from BravoTV.com

I’m not going to spill the beans if you haven’t seen the second-to-the-last episode of Top Chef, don’t worry. As the two reality shows that rile me up the most (I can’t even bring myself to say that I have a favorite reality show or not) come to an end, I feel the need to write about my favorites and why I like them so much.

Which brings me to Top Chef’s Carla Hall. She apparently describes herself the dark horse of the competition, and I gotta tell you, I didn’t think she would last this long at the beginning of the season. She kind of freaked us out with her loudness, her out-there-hair, her big, huge eyes (which some unkindly describe as bug eyes) and her hippy-like declarations of putting love out there with her food.

But, she grows on you.

Predicting the next few ABDC episodes

I know your game now, America’s Best Dance Crew producers. Now that the last of the two gimmick groups have been eliminated (I’m sorry, but clogging? On a hip hop dance crew show? Really?), I now know what the next few episodes are going to be like. Next episode, the Fly Khicks will be eliminated. (I doubt it will be the Strikers All Stars) It could be SAS, but I doubt it. Second to the last episode, somehow Quest Crew and Beat Freaks (or is it Freakz?) will get the fewest votes, with SAS guaranteed to be in the finale. Then Quest Crew will be eliminated, with Beat Freakz beating out SAS for the win.

This is, of course, all dependent if they follow the formula of the last two seasons. And why would they change what seems to be working so well?

Video of some of my favorite performances after the jump.
