Geez, I have cute kids

There’s really not much to update. I’m still on leave, so I’m doing quite a bit of work on Wedding Decorator and this site. In fact, don’t be surprised if you see a new look here very soon. But I figured it was time to post some pictures of my adorable boys. Oh, and Chris is not yet sleeping through the night, but he’s doing better. I’m trying to limit his naps during the day two 5 hours (like a 3-hour nap in the morning and a 2-hour nap in the afternoon) so that he starts actually sleeping at night. But having Michael and Trinity come home at 6:30-7 p.m. kind of messes him up, and he ends up staying up till 11 or so. We’ll get there.

Afternoon at the Huntington

Back when Trinity and I didn’t have kids, I used to spend all day at various Southern California landmarks just taking pictures and enjoying myself. I dragged Trinity to all manner of places, including the occasional hike in the Santa Monica Mountains. Alas, when you have kids, especially a newborn, you have to kind forget the clock and basically run your visit around what your toddler will have fun doing.

Fourth of July fun

Last year’s Fourth of July was pretty chill — we stayed home, had Michael’s nana, pawpaw and auntie over, we barbecued and watched fireworks on TV. This year, we decided to go down to Dana Point and hang out with Mikey’s aunties — where it was cooler, although still quite warm.

Mikey had a fine time running around with his aunties. And he also had a whole lotta fun running through the hose and getting wet, so we figured it was time to try him in the pool.

My baby was a model…briefly

Michael is seriously cute. I think we can all agree on that. Seriously, it surprised even Trinity and I how cute he came out, with those big eyes, the ready smile and that curly hair that all the girls loooove. So, even though I didn’t really see Michael doing it for the long term, I figured, heck, why not? So I signed him up with a modeling agency.

Jet Set Babies, which is the baby branch of Jet Set Models, is based in La Jolla, closer to San Diego than Los Angeles, but most of the work for their models seems to be for LA. Michael was a Jet Set Baby for less than a year, but it was an eye opener for his mom.

Daycare story

Michael’s daycare lady told me a funny tidbit yesterday. There’s a new kid in the group, a boy close to Michael’s age whose secondary caregivers were his grandparents during his first year. So this makes him leery of strangers like me and leery of the daycare lady going out of view, making him cry — a lot. Michael and this boy were sitting in their respective high chairs for breakfast, and this boy was crying — again. Daycare lady said Michael turned to him and said, “stop.”

LOL!
