They finally like dim sum!

The boys have come along way when it comes to dim sum.

When we first brought them, they were very leery of the food that did not look anything like chicken and rice, or noodles, or nuggets. Chris, however, warmed up to it quickly, and was soon devouring everything that had shrimp in it — the har gow, the shrimp balls on sugar canes, the fried won tons. But, Michael and Elliott had a harder time getting into it.

When we went again the next year, they looked really unhappy to be there for my Mother’s Day Saturday brunch. Sigh.

I don’t know if it we have learned what the boys will actually eat (and yes, we do choose places based on what we know they’ll eat, unfortunately), or that they finally learned to enjoy dim sum. Either way, I’m just glad everyone enjoyed themselves for once.

Cheeseburger sneaker loses his first tooth

From trying to sneak a taste of my cheeseburger to losing his first tooth. Christopher, you’re growing up too fast. 😣😢😭 #hackmom #stopgrowing #firsttooth .

Also, oddly, I had a waking dream that he lost his first tooth. I was camped out in an edit bay at work and woke up from a nap, but stayed in napping posture, calculating when Mike had lost his first tooth, then figuring out that Chris lost his first tooth right around the same time frame. Later, we got to his class for his parent-teacher conference and I saw him sort of flash by (because he does not generally move slowly). I told him stop and face me, and I asked kind of sharply, “did you lose your tooth?!” He grinned and his teacher produced the tooth. I was shocked at how I knew before I knew. http://ift.tt/2oYv8CJ

Chris and his new restaurant concept

Chris says he’s gonna be rich from his new restaurant concept, Breakfa. Mike thinks it should be Breakfast Stuff. Anyway, you’ll see offerings like this chocolate waffle stacked with fried ham and clementine orange served amid a play set (for kids only!), music playing softly from the roof and crayons for coloring (again, only for kids!) 😂#hackmom #playingwithfood http://ift.tt/2Arlf5D
