Elevated cuteness

I swear, the older my two boys get, the cuter they are.

On Sunday, both guys were particularly adorable. Their daycare starts teaching the kids baby sign language right around 18 months, so I’ve been trying to reinforce it at home. We had gone to Panera for lunch, so for dessert, I split one of the big chocolate chip cookies with both boys. I broke off a bigger piece for Mike, since he’s capable of actually biting a piece of food, whereas I have to give Chris smaller pieces because he stuffs it whole in his mouth.

Chris must have really liked the cookie, because as soon as he stuffed it in his mouth, he had his hands together in the sign for “more,” and was adorably calling for “more” with his mouth full. This must have happened half a dozen times. And, while all this was going on, Mike was kind of ignoring the cookie in his hand, while flirting with the women at the table behind him. Sheesh, these boys.

Later, at Albertsons, Mike told us he wanted to walk, instead of riding in the car attachment to the cart we were pushing. Our last stop was the candy and cookie aisle, where I wanted to get some chocolate for those late-night cravings. (I don’t care if you know!) While Trinity and I were engrossed in chocolate shopping, Mike ran off, picked up a bag of S’mores Goldfish and put it in our cart. We were like, “Mike, you don’t know what s’mores taste like! Why don’t you get this one?” We showed him the regular cheddar goldfish instead, and even tried to tempt him with the rainbow color ones. No dice. So, when he ran off again, we quickly switched out the s’mores type with the fudge brownie, since they were in similar blue packaging.

Seriously, I thought I had years before these boys would be selecting their own treats at the grocery store and putting them in the cart.
