Post-nose job

Ha! You thought I got a nose job?! No. Not so much. I’m insulted you might actually think I’d not love my face the way it is. Helloooooo? I have the face of an angel. Heehee. Yeah, I know, I hear Trinity snickering behind me. No, no, no. Actually, what’s going on is that I finally stopped being lazy and decided to get my mole checked out. Check out the picture (it’s clickable). I’ve had that mole for as long as I can remember, but it’s been bothering me lately because it looked as if it had gotten bigger, yet there was only a bit of color to it. So I finally made an appointment to get it checked out today, and right then and there, the doctor suggested simply shaving it off and having it biopsied.

I was like, what? Now???? He meant, right then. So, then, I went in with a mole, but went out with a bandage on my nose.

This is actually not my first mole to be removed. I used to have a mole on my cheek, right below my left ear, but my dad always looked at it and was concerned it was getting bigger and may be cancerous. So he had me get it removed, right about when I graduated high school. This was a slightly different operation than what I had done today — today was apparently simply shaving, while my ear mole was cut out, along with a big chunk of skin. Ewwwww.

It just so happened that I was running around today with a lot of errands, so everywhere I went, I could see people looking at me with my tiny little bandage. It was kind of funny at first, and I joked that people were probably thinking, man if she went in for a nose job, they did a terrible job… But now I’m feeling more self-conscious about it. I’ll get over it. I just have two more weeks! *groan*

Anyway, this is what I look like right now. Maybe I should have asked for a bandage that more closely matched my skin tone. Meh. Whatever.

Just trying to stay healthy!

I’m so sorry for the pain, but grateful that you had it attended to!

I had a Mohs proceedure done last year and sported a bandage that covered my right ear. My colleagues thought I’d had ear surgery – not so good for a musician! All is well now. Hope all is well with you, too!

It wasn’t too painful, but I’m going to have to go back to another doctor to have more skin removed because the biopsy found abnormal cells. It should be all right though!

heheh. I didn’t really go to a dermatologist, I just asked my doctor to check it out and she made a referral based on the PacifiCare system.

Hello :) .. I know this was posted like 3 years ago but I did a google search on nose mole removal and this came up. I just had pretty much the same thing done. I went to see my PCP about a mole on the left side of my nose that i have had for years (but just tried to pretend it wasn’t there) and next thing I know it’s coming off! They shaved it and i have a bandage in the same spot. I was wondering how it evnded up healing for you? Did you have a lot of scaring and how does it look now?

    Thanks in advance :)
