What a year

Even my usual motto of “each new year is better than the last” is woefully inadequate to describe 2010. But I suppose it could have been foretold this was going to be a helluva year by the way it started — with the last-minute C-section birth of Michael. Isn’t it amazing how so much can change in one year? This exact time last year, I was getting ready to go to the hospital for another non-stress test and anticipating the results from that fateful 24-hour urine test. This year, I’m getting ready to take my wiggly, active, very-close-to-walking Michael grocery shopping for his birthday party tomorrow.

(Speaking of Michael, I’m watching him stand and squat as he picks up and drops his toy laptop repeatedly. What in the world…?)

There is not much I can write right now, because I have quite a few things to get done today, not the least of which is preparing and rolling close to 100 lumpia (I’m hoping I’ll have extra to freeze, don’t freak out.)

As for 2011, there are a few things I’m hoping to do, including redesigning all my blogs. Yes, that again! There are other things I cannot speak of yet, but God willing, we’ll be moving closer to Trinity’s job, too. Of course, I have walking and talking to look forward to from Michael…

And so, I leave you with this lovely video of Michael enjoying his new, bigger play yard and musical table on Christmas morning. I pray God blesses all who reads this with a wonderful new year pregnant with hope, joy and happy possibilities. We’ll talk again in 2011!
