Remember how I love to play tourist? It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do so. First, I got pregnant last year, so I couldn’t do too much running around while I was with child. This year, I’ve been busy taking care of a newborn and getting resettled at work. So, since Michael is now 9 months old, he’s way more into what’s going on around him. I originally wanted to take Mikey to a zoo — either Santa Barbara or L.A. — but thought he wasn’t ready for it. So we took him to the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Ohhhh, it was a lot of fun. It was a long time since I’d been out and about just for fun. And taking Michael to these places where I’d already been was like experiencing them all over again (which I’m sure I’ll be able to do again, since he won’t remember this trip!). Not only did he get a kick out of checking out the colorful fish (especially the ones in the Pacific Ocean hall), he had fun people watching.

It was a bonus that we ended up at the aquarium at the same time as some good friends…

That’s my friend Iliki, her 6-year-old Xander and 6-month-old Rylan. Not pictured, of course, is her husband Mel and, of course, Trinity. I gotta tell ya…..10 years ago, when Iliki and I were working together at a now-defunct marketing group….we never thought we’d be spending a Saturday, wearing babies in slings. But that’s how it goes!
