Happy belated Pat Harvey Day!

I know K-Rod of LAO was a little dismissive about Pat Harvey Day, but within our newsroom, the staff — everyone — was genuinely happy about Pat celebrating 20 years on KCAL 9. Everyone loves Pat — she’s the type who is always happy, remembers everyone’s name and just elicits a lot of joy from everyone she works with. Before I left the night shift, she used to crack me up with how she would run in her high heels to the newsroom on-camera desk to make an on-air tease — like several times a week. She even remembered the web team in her shout outs to the newsroom — I can’t think of another anchor who would remember!

I only uploaded a few of the pictures I took — my camera wasn’t exactly up to snuff in our dim newsroom, and the few pictures that were presentable were courtesy of Photoshop. I really need to learn how to use my camera better.

By the way, the big pink thing on top of that massive cake was a big “20” made of vanilla cake. So the cake was German chocolate, regular chocolate (which I shamefully had two pieces of, but there was a lot left over!) and the vanilla “20.”

Anyway, the video is just a short tidbit from when Pat arrived at the newsroom celebration to applause from the entire newsroom and a lot of the marketing, advertising and executive staff. Seriously, our entire station genuinely loves Pat Harvey Day!
