As I made my way to work, I spotted smoke just beyond the freeway that I thought may be a building fire, but later I found out was a small grass fire along Sepulveda. But as I snapped photos of the smoke, I spotted this dude either putting up or taking down a sign on the pedestrian bridge right past Balboa Boulevard in Encino. Obviously, and you can click on the photo to see it bigger, the sign says HireMeMBA@gmail.com.
The photo, by the way, was taken from my phone, and through the tinted strip at the top of my windshield. It’s already uploaded to my Flickr stream and Facebook, but I edited it again to post it here.
Anyone looking to hire an MBA? Tell him I sent you. Heehee.
*Update after the jump
Lo and behold, my offhanded, “hey, I might have a story for you guys” actually ended up in a package that aired tonight. The guy behind the signs turns out to be Michael McCullah, who is strategically positioning his signs over the more heavily trafficked freeways in L.A. Its not a bad strategy. The video is below.
When I first snapped the photo, I really didn’t realize what a great story it would end up. I think Suraya did a great job with it. And seeing as how it did turn out so great, I wrote a little story to go with the video.
Here’s hoping it will pan out for Mr. McCullah, who commented here earlier today. (Hi!) I heard from the operator tonight, too, that someone already called, saying they wanted to hire him. Yay!
Thank you for posting a picture of my signs.
Hey this guy is awesome! I hope he gets hired asap just for being creative. The world really needs more people like him in the workforce. Go Mike!
