Help wanted on Craigslist

I check the writing/editing section of Craigslist every day — not really to find a new job, but to see if there are any freelance gigs I could pick up in the little spare time I have (although, I think I’m not very good at selling myself; I had a lead for a freelance WordPress thing recently and I think I blew it, but oh well). I also like to see if there are things I can forward to my friends who are out of work.

Anyway, I found two very interesting ads. One was from one of my favorite sites, I Can Has Cheezburger? It seems they need some moderators:

I Can Has Cheezburger? (other sites include: FAILBlog, I Has A Hotdog, and 5 other sites) is looking to hire part-time moderators to work remotely for one of the fastest growing Websites on the interwebs. You can be located anywhere in the US (except Washington and Oregon).

Our moderators screen and tag user-uploaded images, moderate comments, update our content, convert file formats, and in general, help our users with their experience on our sites. This is a paid, part-time contract position at $8/hour.

We’re looking for someone with:
-A great sense of humor and thick Internet skins
-A deep understanding and love of the Internets
-Ability to work independently
-A strong work ethic

Basic requirements:
-A reliable high-speed Internet connection and a back-up access
-You must be over 21.
-Cat ownership is NOT required

These are the three different shifts that we are looking to fill:

Shift 1: Sunday-Wednesday: 8am to 4pm (Eastern) / 5am to 1pm (Pacific)
Shift 2: Thursday-Saturday: 8am to 4pm (Eastern) / 5am to 1pm (Pacific)
Shift 3: Monday- Friday: 4pm to 8pm (Eastern) / 1pm to 5pm (Pacific)

If you’re interested, email us your resume (and cover letter as to why you’d be good at this job).

Cheers,
The Cheezburger Team

It interests me that they require journalism experience or a degree. This is something I could probably do if I was willing to wake up in time to get out to these places before 11 a.m. and get stuff written up by noon. Actually, the whole concept of that site interests me, but its very slow. I tried to click on one of those arrest links and it totally froze up.
