Christmas gifts…for us!

When you see Kip cowering in the bathroom again, that can mean only one thing…work men! And this time, they were making a delivery — a new bed! Woohoo!

We bought the bed, by the way from a mattress store in Thousand Oaks. I am very happy with the deal they gave us so I have no qualms about giving them a link.

Trinity and I have been slowly replacing all our old stuff with new stuff — earlier in the year, we replaced our coffee maker and microwave. Just recently, we finally bought more cookware (another pot and pans) and some cooking utensils and last week bought a new cordless phone with two handsets. But the bed? That was a way bigger investment, but a good one, I think. Not only did we drop a whole heckuva lot of cash on the bed — and when I say cash, I literally mean the money out of our savings — we also had to buy bedding for an Eastern King bed, which was a headache I didn’t foresee. Who knew that Macy’s, JC Penney and Bed, Bath & Beyond only carried California King-sized bedding? Trinity had originally wanted to buy everything in one of those comforter sets, but we didn’t know no one would carry that stuff in Eastern King. So we ended up having to piece it together — a comforter from Penneys, pillows from Ross (which, I might add, were $20 cheaper than the ones we were looking at at Penneys, plus just as firm) and sheets from BBB — the only place that had a few Eastern King selections. Go figure.

Trinity and I haven’t even compiled our Christmas list yet. Ah well. Let’s just call this our effort to help stimulate the economy.
