Scavenger Kip

My morning routine goes a little something like this: I usually wake up at about 10:30 a.m. (hey, that is not laziness, its simply a night shift schedule), do some chores (like cleaning Kip’s litterbox), eat breakfast and drink my coffee in front of the computer as I read email, while Kip hangs out in the office with me, usually sleeping behind the futon or sitting on the window sill watching the birds. But the other day, after I finished reading emails — I could not find him!

Checked behind the futon. Not there

Checked in the bathroom sink, where he hides when he’s scared. Not there.

Checked underneath the living room curtains, where he likes to sun himself. Not there.

I was really getting worried at this point. Had he gotten out somehow? Did he get into my bedroom? What the heck???

Then I noticed the blanket on top of the futon. I looked in between the folds of the blanket — and there he was. Sleeping quietly. It was like a scavenger hunt!
