AAJA Saturday

These last couple of weeks I’ve been pretty preoccupied with AAJA-LA stuff, including the site’s redesign and putting together an event happening next Saturday. So, I figure, hey — if you want to come along, you’ll get to meet Kate Coe of Fishbowl LA, Mike Schneider of Franklin Avenue and Carol Lin, former Fox 11 and CNN anchor.

Here are the details:

Are you ready to get out of your newsroom and get online? Maybe you want to start a blog, but don’t know how to approach management for their OK. You may be ready to just reinvent yourself online. If the online world has you a little more than confused, some veteran journalists who have already made the jump are ready to steer you through the blogosphere.

Carol Lin, a former CNN anchor and former Fox 11 anchor, left daily journalism to teach at USC and develop an online destination connecting cancer patients and their families. Kate Coe is a veteran newspaper freelancer and an editor of Fishbowl LA, part of Mediabistro’ s network of blogs. Michael Schneider, TV writer for Variety and a weekly deejay at KCSN Radio at Cal State Northridge, keeps a variety of blogs, the most popular of which is Franklin Avenue.

Please RSVP, as there is limited seating. Light refreshments will be served.

If you want to come with, RSVP by leaving me a comment. Although, you have to RSVP by the 10, so we can get you security clearance at KTLA. Oh, yeah, the event is on April 12, 10:30 a.m. to noon, at KTLA. Oh, and you can RSVP on the Facebook page, too. In fact, I’d recommend it!

See you there!
