CSUF Makes It To NCAA Tourney For 1st Time In 30 Years

Daily Titan Basketball I admit fully that I do not keep up with Cal State Fullerton basketball. That said, I’m very proud of my alma mater, which won over Irvine tonight to make it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1978. Sheesh. I guess I’m not the only one finding that 30 can be a charmed number. The DT cover to the left, BTW, is from its last issue, presumably Friday.

From the OC Register:

The Titans punched their ticket to the 65-team tournament with a resounding, 81-66 victory over UC Irvine, in Saturday night’s Big West Tournament Championship at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Cutley scored 22 points and had 12 rebounds, while Akognon netted 23 points for the Titans, who won their sixth consecutive game, and 14th of their last 16. The Titans shot 52.7 percent from the floor, while the Anteaters ended their season by shooting 37.3 percent.

Cal State Fullerton took charge from the start and never looked back, building a 10-point lead at halftime and extending it to as many as 18 late in the second half.

Shamefully enough, the Daily Titan has not yet posted anything on its site yet on this big news, nor on its “blog” which hasn’t been updated for nearly a month anyway. Ummmm, you would think someone would do something about that.

But then again, considering the silly error I found in one of their online ads, maybe that would be asking too much? Screenshot of the error after the jump.

Bad Ad

C’mon guys. “Crapy” gifts? I’m not being critical, I just want you to do better.
