I hear this every couple of years around Valentine’s Day. Yes, my mom is a florist, but she is not the type of florist with a storefront of bouquets and a refrigerator full of flowers she can whip into an arrangement for you at a moment’s notice.

In fact, when I talk about my mom and her flowers, I usually refer to it as her flower business. Because really, most of my mom’s business is weddings, big parties and the occasional funeral.

In fact, she rarely does single arrangements or bouquets, and when she does, its mostly for friends who have already referred a lot of business to her. Psh, she hardly even does them for me.
