Pinoycook.net – my nomination for best Filipino foodie blog online
First, I’m not a foodie. More than anything, I’m a creature of habit, so I often get the same entrees at my usual haunts every time. But having moved out of my mom’s house before gleaning all that I could from her genius cooking repertoire (if that makes any sense) I often find myself googling recipes for my favorite Filipino dishes. Connie Venaracion’s blog, one of many she’s been publishing for at least the last several years (I originally got hooked on her Sassy Lawyer in Philippine Suburbia blog and House on a Hill photo blog, which is now called Sugar and Spice). Her site has detailed recipes — like this one for Chicken Arroz Caldo, which would be super for these cold winter nights — plus reviews of PI restaurants and where to find specialties like Chocolate Polvoron (yum!).
This is my third gift to the world. If anything, enjoy this scrumptious picture of tocino, garlic rice and runny eggs – a classic Filipino breakfast. Now I’m hungry…..
