So much for free jazz

I did not end up going to the jazz festival for a few reasons.

First, I was suffering from full-stomach lethargy. We had just dropped off our pastor when – chowhounds, brace yourselves – we went for a quick and easy lunch at Chili’s. I had the sirloin steak, which hit the spot. Also, another reason why I couldn’t go is because I couldn’t heat up the massive Molten Chocolate Cake I took home. It’s a good thing I basically ate just one meal today (technically yesterday), because that dessert probably equaled three regular meals.

Second, Trinity wanted to get through the huge store of movies and shows stored on our Tivo.

Third, I was really tired. After getting off work at midnight, and after Trinity arrived home at about 1:30 a.m., we both set out to pick up my mom at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. I drove her home in her van, and Trinity followed us to her house in La Puente. After we dropped her off, we left and got home at about 3:30 a.m., only to get back up at about 8:50 a.m. to get ready for church. Oy.
